The XM decoder box, next to the JL 500/1 is mounted inside the rear deck. The whole car is dynamatted- except the headliner. All doors, floor, top, and sides of trunk, as well as the floor under the driver and passengers seats. It reduces tire noise.

What model reciver is that?
I've been wrestling with where to put a head unit that looks good, and this may be my answer. Does it fit well in there, are you still able to close the ashtray?
Thanks for any additional info!
And no, i'm not in NJ... I'm in CA.

yes, can close the ashtray. i had to pull that metal part that holds ashes out of the tray. No big deal, it pulls out to make room for the display.
route the wires from there around the passenger side under the trim, into the trunk.
it would take forever to get detailed and im a slow typer. so if you have specific questions, hit me up![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I'm just wondering if the xm signal goes through something first or just directly to the amp (whether thats high or line level doesn't matter). In other words, is it integrated or just like another head unit.
