I went through this process and no luck
I have a 99 single din and wanted to convert to a double din dash to house the navigation stereo, but the problem is it will cost around $600-1200 for all the parts on the conversion, thats not including the navigational unit, install, and keep in mind the wiring is different.
In the end I purchased a harman kardon traffic pro with the lltek din kit and it was absolutely awesome.
