need 2nd battery?

im gonna be running a 1200 watt jbl amp at 1 or 2 ohms. and a 400 watt 4 channel amp. should i wire in 2nd battery in 94 100s? alternator is 120 amps but still wondering.

allow you to chage both batteries simultaneously.
Lead storage batteries are very different, even the same model/type, as far as electrical characteristics go.
Just wiring in two batteries in paralell, would cause one battery to drain into the other one.

If you replace your primary stock battery, change the alternator, and get a cap, you should be fine, probably even without the new alternator...Check the fuse ratings, I don't think those JBL amps draw too much current...even the 1200 watt one since it's a class D amp...at 120 amps, plus a battery and cap, this should be enough...
