Need help with Cd changer electronic functions when talking to radio...
i need to know what makes the radio recognize the CD changer is hooked up so I can switch between radio, tape, and CD modes when the CD changer is NOT hooked-up. I just had an external walkman playing on the CD MODE after I hooked up the inputs going into the radio for the cd changer to the walkman. So i was listening to the walkman over my speakers in my car while the radio was in CD mode. the problem is I have to have the cd changer hookedup to do so. I am hopefully selling my changer soon and somehow hardwiring my Ipod into the car so I can use the CD mode to play it. The charging part will be easy, now all I have to do is figure out how i can get the radio to switch into CD mode without the cd changer being hooked up. WHO WANTS TO HELP ME?! o by the way it is the older 8 pin cd changer, but as long as i know what signal allows the radio to switch over to CD mode i should be fine. thanx Josh

The radio needs to have communication from the changer to stay in changer mode. WIthout some sort of interface, there is no way to fool the headunit. PIE makes them. Let me know if you need one.
