a newbie to the forum...
I have a Audi A3 2006 with a stock audi stereo system and was wondering what would be better to install into my car.
Ive heard how the satellite works, but how good/bad is the OEM ipod adapter.
PLease let me know your reviews. Thanks!!!

...we had a customer who had the OEM piece in his A4 and when he got an A3 he didn't want the OEM iPOd interface. He got the Icelink (just upgraded to DICE) and it works great!
If done properly Sat and DICE can coexist. The info is out there and if you need advice let me know.

Hey, I just installed a XM tuner into my 2006 A4. I have an IPOD I wanted to also put in. Right now I use the tape adapter.. UGH.. is all I have to say bout that. How can I have them both? I was told only one or the other.... Help is much appreciated.

I'd like to not have it be useless. I had read about this before. It's splicing together 3 wires right?

The Sat has Audio In L, R, and GND empty pins (if your car isn't prewired for CD-C).
You can grab the audio L, R, and GND wires in the DICE harness and cut them and attach them to twisted-pair RCAs with the ends cut off or even three wires twisted with a drill and a vise. The twist prevents inducted noise.
Then you can get the three repair wire/pins from the dealer and attach them to the other end of your extension (I seem to recall 16' for an allroad) and route that to the SAT tuner in the back.
MAKE SURE you insert them right.
So the K-line will tell the SAT tuner when to pass audio through, and the HU will control the DICElink directly but still get auidio in from the SAT tuner. Works seamlessly. But as far as DIY, there's a better post on here somewhere than this from someone else, and the pin info is on nsxjr's site.
If your car has a CD-C, even in the glove, then never mind.

I don't have sat radio, so I figure I could hook up my old Discman if I ever want to play a CD in the car, now that I removed the CD changer from the trunk.
(Still have the old Concert stereo with a cassette).
