Default Aren't tuners proprietary similar to changers.

Tuner should be the same brand as the controller or head unit that it's connected to.

I assume this would be the case unless you have video1/video2 on your screen.

Default Usually this is the case because the head unit controls the tuner.

So changing channels is done through the head units controls. If you have a head unit with an Aux input and the tuner has it's own controller then I guess you could use whatever you want.

Default TV tuners blow, I'd say save your money.

Unless you go w/ Direct TV. But the receiver is huge even for a large SUV, and it's still around $2k (that buys a lot of DVD's). I've tried 6 different tuners/antenna's & they all suck, but my wife also says I'm never satisfied. Also for some reason my car gets worse reception than other non-audi's w/ the same equipment but some people say it's the tint. Any way good luck, don't spend to much $ if your hard to please, it will never meet your expectations.
