Default Need some feedback on some subs.

What would sound better and louder for Dance, Trance, and some hip-hop music?
(2) 10" SVCs? or (1) 12" DVC?

Also I need some sub box size recommendations.
I don't want to take up too much space. Need just enough space for my golf clubs in my S4.

thanks.

Default unfortunately it is not that easy...

the amount and kind of subs you runs depends on a quite a few factors, the most important being what kind of amp you will use as well as the kind and size of enclosure. in other words, find a professional installer where you live and consult with them. i have a single jl 10w3 in a custom bandbass that is as tight as any sealed i have had in the past, and only 150 watts is powering it. most people that have been in the car feel that it is too much bass (when the subs are cranked up), then when they see what is making all of it, can't believe it. look around and see what people have done, and then listen a whole lot more. i personally feel that a single ten can provide more than most are ever looking for, if it is installed properly.

Default Depends on the make & model of the subs and amp

Otherwise, you're in apples & oranges territory.

You looking to ditch the Eclipse already? I just so happen to have 2 Rockford 12s in a box from an old car that I won't be using. You'd be shocked at their performance, if you want to audition them. They're both 8 ohm drivers, though, meant to present a 4 ohm load in parallel to my Rockford sub amp (also for sale ).

Nearly any sub should be able to fit the bill if the box is tuned properly

Nah, not trying to ditch the Eclipse already. I think I need a bigger box.

Default If you can work with wood...

buy some 3/4" MDF from Home Depot, call Eclipse for proper box dimensions (internal), and go to town. Glue and screw all joints, and seal the inside with silicon. It'll be heavy as ****, and you'll need to cover it with some carpeting, but that's about it. It will sound as the manufacturer intended. Otherwise, pay someone to do it for you, or buy a sub that prefers the size box you already have.
