I really want to add a sub, my speakers just sound like **** having to handle the bass load. Here's what I've got right now.

Head Unit: Blaupunkt Munchen

Front speakers: Infinity 4", I forget the model number.

Rear: Infiniti 5x7", also forget the model #.

I'm thinking about nabbing an Infinity Kappa 8" sub off ebay and mounting it in the rear deck between the speakers. Should I amp it? Should I amp all the speakers? The car is a 1993 VW Fox. Bear in mind, I'm not out to make any ears bleed, I just want the system to sound good.

Just buy an Infinity Basslink and it's a one step solution

i wouldn't think you'd notice much difference between an 8 and the 5x7's in terms of low frequency output (which from your specs seems like the only range realy missing)

amp it, and even the rest of the speakers in the car if you can afford it. i haven't heard an amplifier in any headunit that sounds good.

i find it quite humorous that headunits that cost anything over 400 dollars still bother cramming amps in. must be a marketing thing...

I only paid $150 for the head unit. God bless slightly used equipment. You're right, though, bass is really my only complaint, what's in there now sounds like *** when it's turned up even a little bit; it's all booms and rattles. Danke for the help.
