Default New Audio System

Hey guys I'm planning on getting an audio system put in when I get my A4, and want some advice. I am on a somewhat budget, but the store that I am going to is a friend of a friend's so I will get hooked up pretty well. I was thinking on getting 3 10 inch subwoofers, speaker/tweeter components, a couple of amps to power the subs and speakers, and a new Alpine Head Unit (7893). For tbe subs I plan on going with 3 10 inch JL Audio W6s. What amp do you guys think goes well for 3 10 inch W6's? I plan on spending about $500-600 for this amp. I also plan on getting either Boston Acoustic Pro or MBQ components; only the front set however, don't feel there is a need for the back. What amp do you guys feel I should use to power these components? I plan on spending somewhere between $100-200 for this amp. The Alpine head unit has a 60x4 watt amplifier, so I'm thinking i'll just run that to the back speakers? Do you think the Alpine Head Unit I choose is a good one? Also, what are your opinions on my sub/speaker choices? Any and all feedback is welcome!
Thanks for your help in advance!

-Vic

Default i gotta agree with inferno on this one...

a good 2 channel amp for the speakers will run about 300+. And dont run it off the headunit it wont be able to keep up with the 3 10's, and when u start to turn it up a bitg it will start to distort. Check out the JL amps i ran 3 12's off a 500/1 and pick up a 300/2 to power the speakers.

Default Well, I would go for the 7894 or 7995 for the HU. The 7893 only has a 4V preout

on the sub output, but not the front and rear. You want atleast a 4V preout....better signal-to-noise ratio.

As for your speakers (mid/highs), just listen to them and pick the ones you like better. I like MBQs and personally have them in both my vehicles, but you might like the sound of the BAs better. Just listen to them before chosing if you can.

Since you say you are on kind of a budget....For the money, JBL amps are hard to beat...especially for a sub amp. You can get a 600.1 or 1200.1 on the net for less than $350 if you know where to look. A 600.1 should work those 10s just fine...I've heard 2 cars with 3 JL 12s, both with 1200.1 and let me tell you....it was seriously working those 12s.

Oh yeah, on the mids highs....run atleast 75w x 2 on either the BA or MBQ speakers...they are kind of power hungry.

Default oh yea if u ever have time come down to the valley...i can prob

get u some decent prices...keep this in mind my friend just took a stereo shop to court cause he wanted to save a few bucks and got it done for cheap...well the shop did a horrible job, lied about their work and sold him used stuff, he won the case, he had an A4 also... and another AW member bought stuff but had my store do the install, the NAV unit he bought at a good price turn out to be used, missing a $120 cable, and maybe even the NAV CD it self and it was a 1999 model, it was supposed to be new.

Default I am selling my Eclipse CD/tuner that has an 8V output

I had a 4V Alpine unit before and there is a night and day difference between them. The Eclipse is an exceptionally clean deck (sounding and looking). It doesn't have all the pretty lights but it looks great (IMO). I got mine Eclipse CD8051 about 6 months ago and I am selling it for $375, retails for $650 (and NO ONE discounts Eclipse products, try and do a search on the web)
