Default New head unit questions: How can I retain the Instrument cluster display showing radio freq?

Also, what happens when I don't use that feature? What will the dash display if the radio is not "connected" to it anymore? Anything?

You can't, Audi/Panasonic specific protocol code. Nothing will happen if you don't use it.
