Default Newbie question about Bazooka powered sub...

I have a leased 2002 A4 with stock sound system -- I mention leased because I can't perform major mods to the vehicle -- and wondered if a Bazooka EL8A powered sub would make a noticable change to stereo's performance without screwing up the warranty, lease, etc.? Also, are they easy to install (I have never installed anything before)?

The reason I ask is that I saw an advertisement from Circuit City for $100 and thought -- this could be $100 well spent if easy to install and uninstall when lease is up.

Please give feedback.
Thanks,
Doug

Default I reality you can do whatever you want to the car just as long as you return it to stock.

My car is leased too, yet I'm in the process of adding a 5 ch amplifier, new speakers and I'm going to build/buy a sub enclosure and finish off the trunk to hide it all.

Adding a simple powered bass tube will not void your warranty or screw up your lease. In fact when you bring your car in for service they probably dont even know that it's leased.

You will need to run a power wire from the battery to the trunk and also tap into the rear speaker outputs. The factory amp is located in the trunk on the left side. You can get the signals there. It's not THAT hard to do but if youve never installed anything like it before you may want to have them do it. The A4 is not like other cars where wire is easy to run and speaker connetions are easy to get to.

Just IMHO, a $100 Bazoka tube may not add any more Bass than the factory sub does so you might want to see if they can demo it in your car first.

Default Just finished putting a 10" SAS Tueb in my buddies 2000 A4 today...

Depends on your personal preference. I had it in my 2000 A4 for about 2 months before replacing it. Our cars are so very well insualted it is hard to get sound of the trunk and into the cabin.

If you are looking for something subtle then it might be what you are after but go 10" not 8". i would be surprised to find out that the 8" made any real difference.
