Hi everyone, recently I have decided to install to a dashcam to my 2015 A3 PHEV. After many hours of research on dashcams and install methods I have opt for a parking mode dashcam with hardwire kit and battery protection unit. I have used the accessory fuse for ACC wire and seat heater fuse for power wire. At first it all seemed all fine but now I have electrical warning. OBD scan did not show anything. Removing the dashcam wires from the fuses did not clear the warning as well. Does anybody have an idea to how to clear the warning and prevent it from happening again?
Don't those configurations regularly run the battery down to 12.0v? The car is probably seeing unexpected quiescent current draw and saying "something's messed up". Audi considers having the lead acid at below 12.2v for extended durations not a good thing.
But regardless of all that, the answer is the same as every single Audi electrical issue. What does the scan with a quality scan tool say is the actual problem? Audi dash messages are typically useless for actual troubleshooting. It's probably saying "voltage system low" or something to that idea. But you can't work generics; get the specifics.
