I have a 95 UrS6 with Gamma/Bose. The Gamma is suffering from terminal volume **** problems, and is NLA, except used. And used ones are often approaching this condition.
Fast forward to me getting ahold of a nice H/K Traffic Pro 7880. I use the line-outs to give signal to the speakers, and all works well, except for hum on startup, and a pop on shutdown.
Do a search, decide that I need a ground loop isolator. Supposedly, this will take care of both problems.
Fast-forward again to me searching for GLIs. Hmmm, they all have RCA jacks. Well, I cut off the RCA jacks on the line outs so that they could be directly connected to the harness.
Is it just as simple as cutting off the RCA jacks on the GLI and soldering the things in-line?

which seems to be the only definate solution, other than replacing or bypassing the crappy Audi amp.

All I need is somthing to hold them with. I could just use shrink tube, right? It only has to be insulated, and a 15uF capacitor isn't going to get very hot.
Thanks for the link - that's some good info.
