Default I see, we have the 8250 model...
and that socket is beside the charger socket on the bottom of the phone.

Mine actually pauses not mutes. Better as the music stops entirely and you don't lose your place.

Some 82xx models have the headset jack on the side, like Ted + Steve's, mine (8290) is on bottom.

Default Then I would imagine the appropriate Smarteq cradle would have both plugs at the bottom and you'd
just slide it right in there baby!!

We're both right: when playing a CD, it pauses...when listening to the radio, it mutes

Default You know, I have to see what happens when I play the radio. I never do so I'd imagine mine does the
same thing.
