Older technology

I posted earlier about a bad CD changer in my newly acquired 98 A8. Here is an update. The PO purchased a "Neo-changer" brand changer. It doesn't work and I was going to pick one up on ebay but found transferable warranty purchased by PO which is still in force from Best Buy.
Luckily, the 4 yr warranty is good for a few more weeks.
After some wating around at BB, confirming my changer does not work, they told me they would replace it with a JVC 12 disc changer and made an appointment for tomorrow.
Calling an 800 BB number, I was told BB has nothing that will work in my Audi.
The warranty states they will "repair or replace the unit or issue "in store voucher". What good is a voucher if they don't have anythng that will work?
It seems all the changers on BB web site have remotes. Even if they could adapt something, I'd rather not have another control. It would be preferable just to use the same controls as exist on the Audi Concert system as opposed to additional controls.
I realize that the Bose system in 98 was pretty specific to the changer and that technology has moved on. However, I'm wondering what I should do to just be able to play my CDs?
Should I ask Bestbuy for the cash (which I am not sure they will do) and but a used changer on ebay? Yes, I know there are phat boxes, Ipods and other things out there, but I'll stick with the old stuff for now.

I guess i can't complain since I didn't even know about the warranty when i bought the car. Maybe I'll just keep the voucher for something else.
