Default Phatnoise background noise

Just installed a phatnoise system in my recently acquired 2000 A4 w/Symphony. The previous owner put in a generic amp and I'm actually able to hear hard drive noise over the speakers. I'm wondering if this is a filtering issue with the amp or the HU. Does anyone else have this problem?

Default Re: Phatnoise background noise

First thing make sure the Phatnoise lead/din cable is not running next to the audio leads of the amp. Next check your grounds (shorter the better and grounded to bare metal) on both the amp and the Phatnoise system. Make sure the amp and the Phatnoise are isolated from each other.

Default check the Phatoise forums @phatnoise.com

the Toureg threads particularly. There is a lot of complaining, but it looks like one of them solved it with some ferrite loops, I think.
