as the current model... i think the B5 body had the same trunk paneling for a couple of years... my last car was a 98.5 A4 and i know for a fact that the trunk was 100% different.

I went by the shop the other day to make an appointment for an alarm/rem start/gps tracking (thats a story for another time) and i was asking the guys if any higher end sub would fit if i were to upgrade from my JL 250/1 to maybe a 500/1.
So they pulled the box, tried a 10W6V2, that fit without an issue, and for ****s and giggles we tried a 10W7 and to all of our amazement it fit like a glove. didnt rub on the back, had plenty of room to breathe. So apparently it can be done, but a new mold would have to be pulled from the pocket below where the enclosure sits for more airspace. But it was good to know.
