Default PM Modifiche door inserts

Where can I get them?! I can't seem to find anyone in the US that distributes them...

For the uninitiated, their URL is included here.

http://www.pmmodifiche.com/index1.htm</a

Default those are pretty ugly, these look better and avail in USA

Same panels used on an A4 of course. Accomodate 2 6.5" drivers in the front doors. They run about $550 for the set IIRC.

Go to www.theautophile.com and email Peter Lufrano (owner). He's a very friendly/helpful guy and will get you the quote.

Have you checked out the imaging from them?

I see...how did you do your kick install? Did you mount drivers at the footwells?

Default Actually, they had better be VERY good, considering the price

I was quoted $570 per set for these kicks, sans speakers!

I understand that a lot of work had to go into making these happen in the first place, but something more reasonable should be in order, I think. Especially when PM Modifiche costs about $250 for the set, imported from Italy, hand wrapped in leather.

They may be a little off-color with the interior fabrics, but I'll take my chances...

So, anyway, does anybody know who distributes them?

Default my kicks are pictured here uninstalled

They were built OUT from an OEM kick panel, and not cut at all except to drill a hole for speaker wire to pass through. They block the dead pedal entirely as you can probably imagine. I will be redoing them by cutting a hole in the OEM kicks to mount the speakers in and relocating wiring that is behind the kicsk to under the carpet and behind the dead pedal. A couple of people have done it who have posted some pictures.

Default Those looks awesome - must sound great too. I can't lose my dead pedal though.

Got any links to people who've done it differently?

Great! You're the guy who's post I saw but I couldn't remember the name of!

I thought about putting the 6.5's there, but a couple questions:

1. How are you planning to mount them flush to the panel? I heard there's some wires on the passenger side to watch out for.

2. Did you mount the tweeters there for the sake of imaging? I'm thinking about putting them in the stock location, 6.5's in the kicks and 4's in the doors.

Thanks a bunch!

Default It would sound horrible the way you suggested.

You need to have equal path lengths or it will sound like ****. Also - maximizing the path length is the key - moving everything to the kicks would be nice. The stock tweeter location SUCKS! WAAAAAAAAAY too close to the listening position in an A4.
