Q7 mp3 CD changer not working
Hi Guys,
I recently purchased a '06 Q7 with MMI high, no Navi.
However i can not play CD's, the changer is ON, it loads and ejects CD's fine, but nothing else. When CD mode is selected, it just says Repeat on top, when Source is pressed there are no sources to choose from, when Changer is pressed nothing happens, like the MMI does not see the changer. I'm new to the MMI system, and i got the car like this at a auction, so there is no history as how it happened. Tried system reset, but still the same. Pulled the changer out and checked connections, but they seem fine.
Has anyone had a problem like this? Is it possible to reset the changer or MMI to factory state??
Vag-com connects fine to the changer and MMI, but there are no Errors.
changer is - 4L091011B
Thanks in advance.
Toni

By the way,
The dealer says that if liquid has spilled over the Control panel assembly, might have caused the problem.
Is there a writeup anywhere for stripping the control panel out??
Thanks

Just did it.
Disassembled the panel completely. Some Cola and other drinks inside, but no board damage.
Cleaned everything and re-soldered the PCB, no more sticky buttons, but CD still the same.
I guess the problem is with the changer itself.

Nope, no CD's are recognized at all. Tried MP3, normal audio and even update CD. The thing is, the MMI does not see the Changer at all under source.
So, I've ordered another changer from Germany, and will update once arrived.
Thank for the input
