I have a '97 A4 with an Eclipse headunit.
Would it be (theoretically) possible to burn a cd with a blank track, splice an RCA into the audio out cables going to the speaker, and plug that into an iPod and be able to hear the iPod?
Would there have to be some sort of pre-amp betweent he iPod and speaker cables?
I love my headunit but can't figure out how to get my iPod working with it, except for an FM Transmitter, which is so-so quality.
Thanks!

If your HU has an IP-Bus connector for a CD changer or XM, they'll probably have and adapter. I had a Pioneer and they're adapter let me control the I-pod via the HU and provided on-screen song info.
