Default A question about my Rockford Fosgate deck

Its a black 9120G CD/MP3 deck..

prior to purchasing my deck, the specs on an online site said it had sub control. Now when i toggle through all the settings while listening to music (i.e. bass, treble,..) there is a setting for "Sum", not sub. But when i turn it up and down nothing happens. Is it safe to assume this is it?

the control designated sum is a sub volume control of course for it to work something must be connected to the sum outputs in rear of deck
