Default hehe - the shop charged me 24 hours of labor to do it. It was probably around $1800.

Although expensive, it was exactly what I was looking for. Totally stealth (I can put the access door over it at all times) and zero loss of trunk space, which were the two main factors.

Maybe you can have it done cheaper somewhere, or you can probably do it yourself, but I didn't have the fabricating skills or the time to learn them. So I took the easy way out! Good luck.

I would DIY, you can learn to fiberglass fairly easily, and save yourself A LOT of money

Default You're absolutely right. Some of us don't have even the time or patience to learn that, though!

Time is money. I was vacationing in St. Lucia last summer while the audio shop guys were slaving away in my trunk. I came back to a beautiful-sounding car with not one wasted minute!

Default Word...

too bad it ended up not sounding too good over time. The stock sub enclosure is just doesnt have enough volume for the 8" Kappa I crammed in there.

Default Mine is probably 0.7 cu. ft., and that's better for a Pro 10 than a Pro 12, so

I'm losing some sub-bass on the deal, but overall I'm pretty happy. If I had to do it all over again, I'd go with a Pro 10 and expect it to be perfect. Either way, you have to go with a sub maximized for small enclosures (as are the BA Pros, Kicker Solos, etc.). I'm not sure about your Kappa, though.

Default The Kappa is actually sitting in a box...

Default On the floor of the trunk, held down by the bungee net. I've never found a good place for it.

I use the pocket on the other side for oil & cleaning supplies, so that's out. But I keep a bunch of stuff on the floor of the trunk, so it's not a big deal. The big benefit is when I need to load the trunk up with stuff for a trip - I can spread all the small stuff around and still have my entire trunk.
