Default Question for WClark on Basslink Install

I'm ready to install my Basslink but have a simple question....how did you attach the MDF to the shelf bottom? Did you only use sheet metal screws from the bottom or did you use retaining nuts on the top side? Looking for advice since you've done the legwork. Thanks.

Default screws from the top of the shelf, nuts under...

I picked 4 points that are on the low points of the sheetmetal, drilled holes and inserted (from the top) #10x24 1" machine screws. I installed and tightened nuts to capture them to the sheetmetal. Then I drilled matching 1/4" holes in my MDF including a 3/4" counter sink for the bottom of the MDF to allow a recessed shoulder washer and nut. After installing the MDF I trimmed the excess off the screws where needed. This leaves the MDF with nothing sticking down to snag things in case you need to remove the Basslink and use the volume of the trunk.

My basslink is installed simply with 4 #7 1" coarse sheetrock power screws thru the feet into the MDF.
