Questions on replacing Blose head unit......

Has anyone replaced a Blose head unit with one that requires splicing wires? I'm tired of the cd changer that keeps jamming. Crutchfield has only one unit with built-in CD and tape players - Sanyo FXCD-500. Any BTDT? How hard is it to splice wires - can you get at them? Does the mounting bracket cover the gap between unit and console? Any other advice? Thanks,

Pioneer makes a double DIN CD/Tape player if thats what you desire.
Crutchfield sells headunit wiring kits that plug right into the HU and have crimping connectors. All you need is a crimping tool (about $10). Very easy to do. Slide wires into both ends, and crimp both ends (works like a plyers).
