I have a 2001 A6 2.7t with a Bose Symphony I. I just bought a Symphony II from a 2002 car (via eBay) and am trying to install it as we speak.

Problem: When I plug everything in to the new radio and power-up, I just get the word "TRANSPORT" on the display, and after a few seconds it powers-down again. I tried to press RDS and PSCAN buttons (which is how to enter the safe code with my Symphony I) but it had no effect.

Anyone know if what I'm trying to do is possible?
- Is the TRANSPORT display normal and I'm not doing the right thing to enter the anti-theft code?
- Or is TRANSPORT saying the radio is bust?

transport mode is what the radio is set up as when the vehicle is brand new the only way to possibly deactivate the transport mode is to have it deactivated at an audi garage they must use the special machine 5052 to do this (no other way possible to do this)
