so the radio has been swapped in this vehicle and the battery died and now the radio is in safe mode, I have all the maintenance history on the vehicle and found the invoice where the radio was replaced in 2004 at the dealership where the vehicle was purchased by the original owner. I called up there, WA we are in CA, and asked if they had the code, and they could not find the code or the serial number for the radio they installed, so now I guess my only option is pay the local STEALERSHIP the $100+ they are going to charge me to pull the radio and get the code. What a pain in the ****

...free of charge if it was replaced by a dealer under warranty.
It's a coutesy that AofA should be able to work out with the dealer for you.
It takes less than 5 minutes to pull the radio, and get the S/N.
