Default Radio saga continues. Dealer cannot remove headunit. PLEASE HELP (more)

Well, the dealer said that the clips that hold the radio are compressed, and the headunit cannot be removed. I suppose I have two options.

1.) remove the trim, and cut the plastic where the trim is connected to the radio and then go from there... and try to pry the radio out

2.) destroy the radio.. try and force the faceplace off.

Can anyone give me some advice?
