I have a few installation questions regarding my 2001.5 Audi S4 with Bose system. Thanks for the help!

1. I have the Bose system now with a Alpine V12 amp hooked up via the backspeakers/adaptor. The bass is overpowering my front soundstage though, so I would like to add a seperate 2 channel amp and change the front components. What would be the easiest way to do this?

2. Let's say I just change the components and keep the Bose amp running them up front, is this possible?

3.Does the Audi headunit have pre-amp outputs? As in, can I just disconnect the Bose amps and have a 4 channel amp and subwoofer amp hooked up to the pre-outs instead?

1) Get that blau adapter or whatever it is that interfaces with the factory HU and translates it to a line-level signal. then you can do whatever it is you want with adding more amps/speakers.

2)No. The factory amps and speakers run at different impedences than the standard of 4 ohms for aftermarket speakers.

3)No.

If i were you, i'd change out the factory HU. it'll be much easier to upgrade and the sound quality will be infinitely better. good luck.

With the exception of the one guy who put the eclipse screen HU that filled the whole space... that one looked nice.

No normal single DIN HU looks nice in there.
