Default single 10" sub sufficient?

I was looking at using a single 10" Image Dynamics DVC sub (powering both coils) in a sealed enclosure in the trunk of a 2001 S4. I'm looking for thoughts on weather this is going to be enough oomph. I'm NOT into SPL, I'm an audiophile and looking for sound quality. But I do want to be able to hear it. Listening tastes vary from: Crystal Method, Paul Oakenfold and others of this type, Depeche Mode, Cold Play, Sarah Mclauchlan, etc..
Thanks.

Depends more on the amp and the enclosure than the actual speaker. Should be more than enough with the right sized enclosure and a decent amp.
I have a 10" Alpine in a ported reflex enclosure powered with a 300erms V12 amp and it is more than sufficient.

Default Two is more than enough for me

I have two Planet Audio 10's in a homeade box Powered by a crap sub and I have the gain set at like 30%. so you should be fine (granted I have an avant so I am not trying to push sound through the trunk wall and rear seats but still) you should be fine.

Yes, should be more than enough. I have a Dynabel DY 9410 sub in a 15 liter closed enclosure powered by the rear channels of a Dynabel 4 channel amp. It produces Hi-Fi sound like i havent heard in any other car. Check out pictures from install at: http://homepage.mac.com/m.s.w/PhotoAlbum38.html

Default the dimensions

Here they are: 13.5" x 16.5" x 8" (I' assuming there is a simple formula for finding cubic volume).
Have not decided on an amp yet, but will get a good one.

Default If you don't want deafening bass you'll be fine.

Just make sure you give it enough good clean power (at least 300W total I'd say). Since it's DVC you can wire it to show a lower impedance to the amplifier to get more power, but that will increase the THD, so it's a tradeoff between SQ and SPL.

Default yes, but....

i've had that IDQ 10" sub, and i've recently changed to the Diamond Audio sub and i think the DA is much more musical and responsive compared to the IDQ. Either way, 1 10" in a proper box with enough power will pound good enough.

Default i think it's the TM1 or CM1 or something like that. The one that's like $150..

it's not their most expensive one, but that's b/c it's not built for SPL, it's made for SQ. I'm throwing 500W at it and it really is a significant difference in musicality over the IDQ's. So with the addition of the Diamond sub, i'm now using the complete diamond audio setup- 3-way silk Hex's up front and the sub in the rear. Sounds GREAT.
