Single to double din conversion, has anyone done this? I have a 99 a4 b5
early body style with a single din, i want to do a double din, has anyone done a conversion, and have pics?

If you want to install an OEM nav, go to navplus site and give up (like me) ...
If you want double DIN for aftermarket unit, then it's hard work (think CC, ashtray, etc.) but probably do-able.

Check out navplus site....
Unfortunately the B5 doesn't possess enough wiring as it is so even if you can get the display unit, GPS antenna, adaptor cables, etc. it's still not enough. I regret not knowing all that before I bought my car, otherwise I would have bought a B6 instead so at least the option is there.

I just completed a single to double DIN conversion on my '99 A6
Doable but a PITA. Remind me to not buy any more Audis without double DIN and CAN Bus.
Needed CAN Bus emulator, new front console, custom wiring harness.
Everything works but the arrival time calculation on the RNS-E. It's off by the GMT offset.
