Default Skipping problem with in-dash CD player.

It's a lower-end kenwood that i've had for about 4 years and has worked perfectly up until this point. Recently, it's been either skipping or popping when playing CDs and is especially noticeable on tracks recorded near the outer edges of the discs (i.e. tracks 13,14, etc.). Any idea what's going on and how to fix it?

thanks.

4 years old. I bet it needs a cleaning/alignment. Call Kenwood cust. service.
