Im really not to much of an Audiophile, and think the bose concert system is great to begin with. I constantly get asked if I have subs in there now, with it totally stock. I had never heard of punch... but looked up a couple of websites last night and got the impression this is about an $80 sub.
Is punch a decent brand? or Would you guys say spend the money on a nicer brand

Getting a 12" sub for $50 that is only originally about $80 is somewhat of a risk. Unfortunately in the world of car audio, if you want stuff to sound good, you have to pay for it to sound good. Only on a rare occasion will you find a cheap speaker/amp/whatever else that is worth well over what you paid for it. Your best bet? See if you can listen to it. If they guy has it hooked up already to an amp. If it sounds nice, get it. But if you're unsure, or if you can't get a test listen, dont bother. Your Bose system will make up for that, and save you $50.

It all depends on what you listen to. I have two Punch 12s that I used for 6 years that still work just fine. I am now using a single Boston Pro 12 for space and SQ considerations, but in my Boomer days, the Punches were awesome (and I have the hearing loss to prove it).
