I am installing my eclipse head unti until the azentek comes out in dec./jan.
Front stage
hertz mlk 2s
sub
hertz millie 12
box
ported
amps
1 audison 2.9 for sub 1x900
1 audison 2.9 for front 2x260
DONE
thats my final decision. I cant think about this anymore. my head hurts. I will post pics hopefully late next week.
It will look sort of like this but my amps will be under plexi and the trim will be nice.

Finally. Its nice because i can add another 12 in the future with another 2.9. I am more than impressed with the mlk 2s so i dont think that will be a problem. When the azentec comes in i will change it to active.

Not sure what the processing capabilities of the head unit you're looking at are but if it cannot do bandpassed mids then you'll need a processor to do that too unless you plan to do it from the amp. Using crossovers from the amps is fine but tuning it will require two people instead of just one since you'll need someone in the back to make adjustments while someone in the front is listening.

I would recommend using those crossovers. They've got great features like Time Alignment and HFC (high frequency contour) which helps bring the sound stage up and in front of the listener.....
Have fun playing around with the settings on that crossover, you'll be amazed the difference a good crossover makes. I don't have TAD on my MLK165, but I do have HFC, and when it's turned on for the driver, the sound stage seems to dance in front of the driver on the dashboard. It's incredible.
Tuning should be done at least twice on those speakers. once when they're put in, then wait until after at least 15 hours of play time to tune for the final time. I'm very jealous.

Mine was about 3 months. I dropped it off every morning and drove it home night. 3 months with no stereo. Just listening to the engine and the wind. Yeah! That sucked!

I was pre planning a system for my new car. I am picking the car up this week. Trailblazer ss with the 3ss package. black. Problary friday. Driving it 2 miles from the dealer to the shop. So the car will have under 15 miles on it.
getting some other stuff done too. exhaust, intake, tune, and lowering.
