Default Some audio questions about rear door speakers in my 96' A4

I recently removed the interior trim of my rear doors to find that there is a nice pre cut spot for some 6.5" inch speakers.

Setup
40 x 4 watt Alpine Amp
Front Doors: 4" Infiniti 2-way
Rear Shelf: 6.5" Polk 2-way
600 Watt mono Kenwood Sub Amp
10" JL Sub

My question is this: There is plenty of high and plenty of sub bass but not much mid-bass with this setup. Would it be a better idea to just put in the woofer of a 6.5" component system or put a low pass filter on a 2-way speaker (like above) for the rear door speakers?

Thanks

Default Doubt you'll get any decent mid bass from speakers mounted to a flimsy door card

You'd be better putting a couple of 6.5" subs in the rear deck (JL 6W3v3-4) for the mid bass and then moving the rear deck speakers to the door and high pass them at about 120Hz to keep the low frequencies away from the doors.

Default In my old system I had my mids crossed at 63 and got enough midbass to keep the stage in front.

I did have DSP which was a major factor but it can be done with proper tuning.

Default why would you want mid-bass coming from behind you? Just skip the rear door speakers alltogether...

The fab work would be more worth it to improve the front mounting and maybe a larger driver which will give you the mid-bass you want from the right direction...

Skip the rear door speakers! Put 5 1/4" in front to get more mid bass

Default I was planning on going 5.25" component upfront anyway.

How how does this sound;

5.25" Component up front
6.5" 2-Way Rear Door
6.5" Subs Rear Shelf (as advised by response below, though I don't know how I would enclose them. open maybe?)

S4's have 6.5" 2-Way speakers in the rear doors as well as the rear shelf right?

Default Find a 5.25" separate that will give you great mid bass extension.

I am biased in this category as I work for Elettromedia, but we are known for our "out-of-this-world" mid bass response.
