I was playing my CD/Radio/XM and I noticed that the bass on one song is consistant at the same time interval so I was able to notice this. The subs would lower the power or the amp down to 1/2 the power they were hitting at. Then all of a sudden full power would come back and they would hit HARD. It seems the amp is cutting out for some reason. I am not sure why. I checked all the connections and everything is fine.
I just installed this setup this past weekend.
Also for a good 10 min after it stopped doing it it was fine.
Rockford 800.2 Amp, and 2 JL 10" w3v2s. 4 Gauge power and ground wire. Power from battery, and ground to floor of trunk. Stinger RCA cables from factory line tap of deck. This also I think may have been happeing in my last car this same setup was in, but I never adjusted it before I removed it to where I liked it.
Anyone have ideas why this is happening? It's pissing me off.

getting the final touches of my rear-ender fix. As soon as I get it back I plan to use my meter on it to check the ohm load.

I have an old kenwood amp and due to where I mounted it, when I shut my read seat it bends the rca's on the amp. It caused the rca plugs to crack the solder inside the amp a could times so the connection wasn't constant. I would hit bumps and the thing would all of a sudden hit real hard and I could wiggle the connecter to get both subs to fire. I don't know anything about the wire harness your using beacause I have an aftermarket stereo, but thats what it sounds like. if you can get it to sound 1/2 power while your stopped, take a walk back and put your hand on both subs and see if they are both kicking. Like I said I'm guessing one will not be and you have to trace the connection all the back to the headunit to find the problem. could be in the amp like mine or possibly a wire being pinched in your harness off the deck.
