If you work at a CC, why are you asking US for help? Is your roadshop that incompetent?

Default I asked you guys because of the possibility of it being the bose wires. I work in car audio and

have trouble shooted the problem myself, i just wanted to see if a fellow AWer had this problem and fixed it or knew about this happening with different connections. Not that the guys in my roadshop arent good, i just dont trust them with my car and would rather figure it out and learn for myself so i can help others as well. And also i dont work the next few days and wanted to figure this out while the nice weather was around.

thanks for your help tho i appreciate it

Default No offense, but I hope AW members see this and avoid Circuit City as a result.

If you're in the Circuit City car stereo department and you don't know how to t-shoot a basic problem (and you don't, based on what I've read so far)

...and you don't trust those guys in the road shop to figure it out (don't worry, I wouldn't trust them either, but here's a Circuit City EMPLOYEE who doesn't trust them)

...then maybe Circuit City is a terrible place to go to buy car stereo!

Default I have trouble shooted this problem, except for the ipod idea. But

I'll be honest (not speaking for all circuit city's) that if you truly want a great sound system done 100% right you dont go to a retailer. Everyone knows that, now i do trust my installers for honda civics and more common cars but they dont see a 2001 audi too often and i would much rather pay a professional who has.

But i have trouble shooted by rechecking grounds, trying different speaker connections such as a LOC or using different speaker cables from the harness. I also hooked the subwoofer up in a friends car which is why i know for sure it is not the subwoofer.

I can trouble shoot cars with out seeing them as i have to do most of the time but this problem just got me alittle confused so i asked for some assistance as a result. I Know you have no clue how much knowlege i have about cars and i did come off as a n00b but i was just looking for alittle help and it worked because now i have some more ideas. to check out. I have encountered this problem with the subwoofer since i installed the mac mini in my car (took that out b/c of sound quality) I thought it was a problem with the mac but it has stayed a problem.

but whatever, i did come off as dumbfounded and i appologize for not stating how much i have trouble shooted so far. And i am not here to diss circuit city or any other retailers but we all know if you want GREAT work done especially on higher end cars then you do not go to a major retailer. If i had my old mustang i would gladly bring it to the guys in my shop because ford radios are mostly the same and it is something they have done before.

thanks for your help either way and sorry for asking.
