Default suggestions on box setup please!!!

well, its getting to be about that time, ive got my amp, subs, and for christmas tomarrow im getting an eq, and speakers. I absolutely love Mark P's setup and was thinking of doing the same, firing my 2 JL 10w3's forward into the cabin, then flush mounting my amp (McIntosh MC4000M) on the trunk side. The only problem with this is that i would have to but a ski rack for my ski's. now, take into consideration, my amp is f*cking huge, 34x12x3. Firing my subs into the trunk would be no problem, but im goin for some serious SQ and am worried about the trunk rattling away. The only thing that i absolutely have to do is have the amp protected, probably covered with plexi. If my $4000 amp gets scratched, ill murder someone. putting in a false floor and flush mounting the amp into that would also be a good idea, though i still need to get to the spare tire underneath it. Anybody got any idea's for me???
TIA
Joe

Default any way you look at it, ur skis are goin on the roof.

Therefore, I would go ahead with Mark's setup. Mine is the same idea, but since I only have 1 12" I was able to leave the 40 side open, so no roof rack for me. Nice choice with the mcintosh, I love those amps cuz they remind me of growing up around my grampa's old mcintosh receiver, and they have the same exact meters on them still. Good luck

Default mount it under the rear seat....

ok, i'm only kidding, but you could put your subs under there. or put plexi in-between the seats (where the armrest would be, if it were down)

that would ineveitably look ugly.

you could mount it along the side of the trunk, which would cut off space, but with a proper install, you could utilize the irregular space behind it for tools, or a cap.

i put mine upside down under the rear deck. if you need to look at it (for 3000usd i would too) put a mirror on the floor of the trunk....or put it on a sliding rail so you can see the VU meters throught the armrest hole, and slide it out of the way when you wanna put your skis through there.

put the subs under the rear seat. noone's done that (yet)

get some cool floor grilles...that would look mint.

i'm tired now.
