Default Suggestions on good head units with amber lighting

I'm looking to spend $500 and under for an HU, and preserve the classy german/amber look. Most of the HU's out there right now look so plastic and shiny and gaudy (fine for a Honda but not for an Audi). Any suggestions?

Default I believe your only options are

-Kenwood Excelon series
-Some Sony or other (forgot which model)
-A couple of Blaupunkt models (again, not sure which)

Oh, there's also a gorgeous unit by a German company called Becker - the model is Mexico Pro and it's around $600. I don't know of anyone who has one, so there's no word on its sound quality; check out the link below - there's a list of dealers. Why don't you get one and let us know how it sounds?

If you find something else that's quality let me know. The only thing stopping me from swapping out my HU is the ****ty looks of aftermarket units available. Well, that and not having a job . . . =)

Becker Head Units

Default Here's a link to a photo of the Becker HU

Looks pretty snazzy IMHO. No BS graphics, no animations, nice & simple.

Becker Photo

Default Which model? I browsed the site and didn't see any reference to red illumations.

Don't much care for the looks/styling of those units anyway; too flashy for me.
