Default Symphony Radio Issues

I just bought a used Symphony I headunit from a wrecker, and had it installed at the dealer. I notice that the front channel is not working. I took out the front speakers, and tested them all (by plugging them into the rear) and they all work great. I checked the fade/balance, and the front should be getting signal; I checked the wiring at at the speaker, and it is all connected properly. I should mention that I got the car at auction as a theft/vandalism recovery, and that the original Symphony I in there was smashed in, and the radio did not work at all.

Does it sound like the front channel on the one I bought is bad? Is there any way to test it, in addition to what I did? I suppose pulling the radio to make sure that the mechanic connected all the wiring would be a good idea also.

Thanks in advance.

Default sounds like you need to vag it for either bose...or none-bose..

see this link for details.

Go to the vag forum of AW...to find somebody local with a vag to recode it for you.

Good luck!<ul><li><a href="http://www.nav-plus.com/instructions/programming.html">http://www.nav-plus.com/instructions/programming.html</a</li></ul>

Default Thanks. The one I had installed says "BOSE" when......

you turn on the car. Could it be that the Symphony unit that was originally in the car was non-BOSE? The car has two speakers in each door, and two on the rear deck. I'm not sure what differentiated BOSE and non-BOSE in the B5s.

Thanks again.
