Default System dilemma (aka Infinity amps suck)

Sick of all the problems I was having with radio reception and distorting speakers, I pulled my Infinity Kappa 255 (5 ch) amp out, and put my MTX Thunder 2160 (80x2 or 320x1) in on the subs, and picked up a Fosgate 200a4 (25x4), on a Best Buy 30 day free rental plan, and hooked it up to the front and rear stock speakers.
Wow! What a difference. The sound is much cleaner, and I'm even getting better reception.
My problem is, Crutchfield will only give me a gift certificate for it. So i have $400 to spend at crutchfield.

My current system:
Eclipse 55060
Fosgate 200a4 - 30 day trial
MTX Thunder 2160 - sub amp (320x1)
cheapo 12" Fosgate subs
stock speakers

I figure I can get either: an amp, better sub(s), or speakers.
Any suggestions on an amp? I think I'd rather not go through Crutchfield. I'd like to have just one power the whole system (Memphis Belle?), but I guess it doesn't really matter, as I do like my MTX as a sub amp.
For a sub, I was thinking Infinity Perfect 12 ($300 crutchfield, $189 Zeb)
Has anyone tried the Polk DX-3055 components? ($300), That would leave me with about $100 to get some coaxes for the rear (Polk EX602a?)

I'm leaning towards getting the speakers, then amp and sub elsewhere. Comments? Suggestions?

Thanks.

Default well

if you have to spend that $400 at crutchfield, I'd get the perfect 12 there. IMO, crutchfield offers no good component sets other than maybe the perfect 6.1(if they even have it) or polk/momo, although I haven't even heard either. I'm not suprised you are disappointed with the 255a, I had heard nothing but bad things about it. I have 2 infinity amps (54ab + Beta Digi 100), and I haven't been too impressed by them.

As far as an amp, I would stick to PPI, Orion, Soundstream, Xtant, A/D/S, etc...

Components: MB Q, Dynaudio, Diamond, and others that won't come to mind.

Subs: I like my perfect 12, compared side by side to a JL 12w3, it's way better. Of course there are many good subs out there, you just have to decide which is right for you.

I have a Perfect 12, hits really hard currently running it off a Fosgate 800a2, only thing was that it vibrated the rear deck like a mother so i just put in a few short screws to hold it down and it doesnt rattle at all now. And infinity amps do suck I agree, so do Profile, i blew them both.

Default The infinity perfect 12 is tight and hits hard. running 450W to it though (RMS is 350 and peak 1400

I put sound deadening material in my rear deck between the deck and metal cause it was rattling, no more.. i also dynomatted the trunk. sounds awesome. just need to add some new speakers in the cabin now
