I am new to any modifications to the Audio system in any car so please excuse my lack of expertise.

I understand an amp needs to power a sub.

I have an A6 with the Bose, (little subwofer in the trunk). I require a deeper richer bass. I have played with the hiden EQ settings, I am still not impressed with the deepth of the bass.

I do not want some big box in my trunk. I would like to enhance the quality of the bass though. Ie seeen tubes, but I've also heard tubes, and they don't really do it, again though there might be something new, I just don't know whats out there.

Like I said, this is my first stab at it, so I will browse the forum but what are some of your thoughts as to brands to consider and where one should go to install such things? Money is no option as this is just a sunwofer upgrade, I think? So please share any thoughts you might have.

With car audio.. give a #... then it can be filled. A normal box with a 10" subwoofer, and a quality amp should be fine.

A 10" RE SX subwoofer ($239 from the factory) in a sealed enclosure powered by a Hifonics BX1000D($269.99 from woofersetc.com). That will sound incredible and if you build the box yourself it won't take up much space at all. You should probably build a sealed box with 1.5 cubic ft of space, that won't take up much room at all and it'll sound sharp. I've got 2 15" RE SX's in my 90CS and it can get painfully loud while still pertaining excellent sound quality. They are some of the best SQ subs i've heard to date.
