Default This topic seems to have been beaten to death already but I'm still having problems.

I have a '97 A4. I had the Sony CDXF5700 installed at Circuit City. I noticed that my FM reception was not as good as before and my AM reception had completely disappeared. After bring it back twice to Circuit City they said that there was nothing they could do.
I then took it to a local car audio shop and they installed a powered antenna adapter (Metra I believe) and it's made absolutely no difference. Any other ideas?

Thanks. Does anyone have the full correct wiring configuration for the powered antenna adapter? Basically, when I go back to the shop, if they wired it incorrectly, I want to be able to tell them how to fix it. I think this is the adapter they used. As far as I can gather I believe the wire off to the side needs to connect to the blue wire coming off the back of the HU.

Default Update but no fix

I talked to the guy who did the install and he said he hooked it up like I said above. Anything else to check?

Default No Idea what color but...

it needs 12v+ to it. Just wire it to any constant or switched 12v+ and it should work fine. You very well could have a bad power adapter, a bad head unit, or the antenna in the trunk/rear windshield could be disconnected.

Default pretty straightforward....plug the amplifier into factory and headunit radio spots

and connect the other wire to a switched +12V source. For mine, I tapped the head units remote turn-on line
