toslink / sp-dif / digital out from stock head unit?

I have an Alpine PXA-H600 processor lying around. It's pretty sweet, since it automatically calibrates time-correction & per-channel EQ (also cross-overs?), using an included microphone. I'd like to use it, but probably wouldn't bother unless I could feed it a digital signal.
So, does anyone know if the stock (changer) head unit in the B7 A4's (2007, specifically) has a digital out or can be easily modded to do it (see link)?

https://forums.audiworld.com/audio/msgs/55826.phtml</a

Don't know if the same can be done to a B7 HU. Also, I know the PXA-H701 suffered from noisy analog inputs so I wonder if this one would be the same. That's even more incentive to get a digital signal into the unit. I had an Alpine IVA-W200 and PXA-H701 combo connected via toslink. It was awesome!
