I have a question regarding a 2015 SQ5 with the B&O system.
The customer has supplied an Alpine X703D-A.
After performing the wiring, there is no audio output.
The interface wiring supplied by Alpine was documented as a plug and play, however I looked at the speaker connections at the OEM plug, and the wiring label and I believe the wiring supplied by Alpine is not for the B&O system.
Ive attached a couple pictures to assist .
can anyone share a wiring diagram or expertise of the 4 pairs of wires at the connector in terms of what kind of signal should be present there, and, what does the OEM amp use to turn on? I assume its powered on from the CAN.
Thanks What's installed OEM Wiring harness A connector from the Alpine to loop into the Audi GAteway The Alpine Connector Another angle of the OEM connector THe CAN module supplied by the Alpine
The X703D is not compatible with the B&O system AFAIK. It is most definitely not compatible with any models that have a NAV system from a plug and play standpoint. This is from the Alpine UK website:
Compatible Cars
Make: Audi*
Model: Q5
Model year: 2009 - 2015
Sound System: Audi Chorus; Concert; Symphony
* Not compatible with vehicles with Audi MMI navigation or navigation plus system.
I installed an X701D-A4 1st generation unit in my 2014 Audi A4 with the Audi Concert System and it integrated into the car seamlessly. I believe the B&O system uses a completely different wiring harness since the overall system has more speakers than the basic system.
I found this online but I'm not sure if it applies to the system you're working on or not:
