Default TT Sub Question

Howdy all. With all the recent posts on subwoofer installs, I was curious; anybody on here constructed their own custom enclosures? I've searched and not found too much. I'd like to build one as a replacement for my rear-seat removal void in my TT. Something that would house the amp and the sub(s) that I could remove for track days as well. The biggest question is not so much the designs, which I'm curious about too, but the material used. Any input or warnings would be a great help. Thanks guys, I love y'all. Always a greater help than the local idiots

Default 18mm MDF is the best material, but with obvious limitations if it needs to be an awkward shape

MDF is very dense and easy to work with, but if you need to mold it to bodywork then you're looking at fibreglass, with an MDF mount for the speaker.
