Default UK: AMI head unit part number?

Hi. I am really hoping someone can help me.

I want to buy an AMI head unit for my A6 so that I can plug in a Invery bluetooth adapter (or similar) to stream music from my phone through the car stereo system. The car originally had a CD disk changer unit.

My car is an Audi A6 Avant 2011 (C6) - 2.0 TDI 270Bhp - SLine Special Edition

My MMI software version is BNav_XX_XXXXX which seems to indicate it is MMI 3G Low/Basic.

I have seen a few head units on eBay but I'm not sure if they are going to be a fit. How do I find out the right part number for my car? I have already tried 4E0 035 785 D but it didn't work, I think because it is for an earlier car. I would therefore assume I might need 4E0 035 785 E or F, but want to be certain, they are quite expensive.

I would be grateful for any help.

Thanks

Andy

I think this would be a better option to go with:

Road Top Wireless Carplay Android Auto Retrofit Kit for Audi A6 S6 (2010-2011 Year), for Audi Q7 (2010-2015 Year) with Factory MMI 3G System Update, Support Mirrorlink, Camera

Thanks for the link. Certainly something to consider, a little more pricey than I'm currently looking at but looks to be a much more comprehensive solution. Though getting behind the dashboard makes me nervous :-)

All you do is pull out the cd player/changer with a pair of the stereo removal keys and your golden. No need to tear apart the dash.

You might have better luck with this UK-based forum. It's for A8s, but they're a great parts and info source!
