I'm thinking about upgrading my front speakers to infinity reference 552i. But i also want to keep my headunit stock. The speakers have a sensitivity of 92dB, a recommended 2-45 watt RMS and peak power handling of 135 watts. Now I'm wondering would the stockhead unit, messed up these speakers because of underpowering them? (stock unit gives off 20 watts..right?) Or would it be fine b/c the sensitivity is really high.
Thanks in advanced!

Someone may want to check my figures but:
Assuming the headunit uses a +/-battery voltage dual rail internal supply which is pretty typical, you are right, the internal amp is probably 20W as usually spec'd into 4 ohms(about 9V RMS). This roughly agrees with the "80W" total (20x4) specified by Audi.
Your 93db Infinity should produce about 106 db max SPL with that 20W power.
I dont know what the stock speakers spec out at efficiency-wise. Probably 2-4db higher.
