Default USB to OEM head Adapter

We received completely new aftermarket USB to OEM radio interface for VW and Audi. The USB interface plugs directly into the back of you existing car stereo and allows you to connect any portable audio device e.g. USB disk, IPOD, Minidisk, CD player, MP3 player etc...
To change tracks using the seek buttons on the stereo or steering wheels controls. In addition it has Aux-in plug.

Let me know if you interested in additional information.<ul><li><a href="http://www.connects2auto.com/6.html">http://www.connects2auto.com/6.html</a</li></ul>

Default Looks similar to this one

And I'm sure it has the usual limitations of 6 folders/playlists and track numbers (no text) only.<ul><li><a href="http://www.solisto.de/index.php?page=faq&amp;lang=en">http://www.solisto.de/index.php?page=faq&amp;lang=en</a</li></ul>

Default I bet it won't display text on the radio display

simply because no Audi head unit supports this if you are using the CD changer port (which I suppose you are based on the picture on your web page). And the one page manual to download talks about CD10, another thing I doubt works with an Audi head unit because those only support direct access to up to 6 CDs. If you say Navi plus - mini ISO, does mean it won't work with the RNS-E whihc has a Quadlock connector?

Interesting product though, if there would be more information available. Like: Does it support FAT32? What's the max supported size of the media (e.g. can I use an 8GB SDHC card or 80GB USB 2.0 hard drive)? What the max number of songs per media? What audio formats are supported (MP3, WMA, AAC, etc.)? Will an external CD changer (not the internal changer in a Concert/Symphony head unit) still work together with your device? If it does, how do you switch between the external changer and your device as audio source?

Default Posts like this from a supplier always concerns me ...

And you've put into words exactly the same thoughts in my mind, and probably others as well. I've seen aftermarket HU aplenty that now do USB port, but an add-on product like this would be fantastic, if only we could get unbiased info.

Default Gosh, I hope it works better than those Sony iPod interface POS's your company sold me...

...especially the ones which had obviously been installed and repacked, and didn't work for me any better than they had worked for the guy that installed them before.

You are telling us this thing puts text on the display of an Audi radio through the CD Changer port on the back?

ARE YOU SURE?

Since you "received" them, that implies that you did not design them, that you bought them from an OEM supplier "off the shelf", and that you probably don't know much about their operation in different cars because you haven't tested them.

If it puts text on the screen on an Audi radio, I for one would LOVE to see a pic of the test on the screen - because until I do, I don't believe it.

P.S. Since you seem to be trying to advertise for free in a public forum, I just thought I'd add some public forum-ness to it.

Default Actually...

Info can't be biased, it can only be accurate or inaccurate.

PEOPLE can be biased, but they still can provide accurate info - or not.

I have strong opinions about gear - but I try hard to report only accurate statements about the gear I have experience with.

Like my experience about Connect2's iPod interfaces being crap. I'm CERTAINLY biased... but that doesn't make my reporting inaccurate

Default I know what you mean, and I think we mean the same thing here.

Bias and inaccuracy are indeed separate things. The supplier here is straight out promoting their gear, and from your comments they're crap. I'd have the same objection even if it's a supplier promoting good gear. When you post your opinions, they don't present themselves as from Ken whi is a supplier, but from a fellow enthusiast who also happens to supply gear You're doing all of us a great service.

Default Tough crowd. Perhaps I should stick to the day job?" ? let try work thru that.

First, I didn't design them because I'm a "new" Connects2 distributor in US from the beginning of the year and not directly associated with Connects2 that based in UK that develop this adaptor.
I heard from number of sources that the previous Connects2 reseller left bad reputation on the market, sorry about that and I hoping that I will be able to correct that impression. I have over 20 year of experience in electronics' and computers and I coming from car enthusiast's family that was racing in EU from early 50s. I hopping that I will able to bring to the fellows enthusiasts latest and coolest product in competitive prices.

Now, about text on display - I received it but not tested myself yet as . I was told by manufacture that the adapter will display the filenames on the radio display and that what I see on the packaging.
If you love to see it working for yourself ( and you a pro installer), how about performing a "testdrive" (I will provide the USB adapter to you for free for 30 days) and report your opinion to the rest of the forum after testing it? Hopefully, if you will find that this product is displays text on display and performing as promised, you will be able to review it objectively. Did any of the other vendors give you this kind offer?
I love car and technology and I'm personally excited every time that I see "cool" piece of technology. My apologies if my posting looks as a cheap promotion, since I tough that sharing my excitement with other member about new option that can integrate our MP3 players and mass storage devices in car even better.

Regards,

Joseph @ Connects2Auto
