Want to add speakers to rear doors. Non-BOSE. Any pictures? Write-ups? Suggestions?

Well, yeah - the Bose had a bunch of it. Doesn't make it worthwhile, though.
But that's just my subjective opinion. I've never heard the JLs, but why don't you try another set of components, just for fun? Someone ought to let you audition a demo set in your car. See if it's not the speakers.
