RMS ratings != power needed to drive sub.

a 10" sub will perform on 100w and sound good, and get loud. On 250 watts, it will just get louder. Sound quality really wont change. You'll just be able to get the same volume out of the subs by using level clicks on your volume level on the head unit.

I only drive 100w each into my JL10w4s, which are rated 200RMS I believe. I hit 135dB on the SPL reading at gains on the amp weren't all the way up either.
